OCCA Primary School Representative Cricket Team

The Primary team jointly won the 51st South Island Primary tournament in Gore.

It was an outstanding team performance with no one particular individual star. This was reflected with the selection of 5 players in the Otago Team, Cameron Jackson, Reece Collin, Caleb Carson, Quinn.

Additionally the team won the Eastern Southland Fielding Trophy for fielding and fairplay which again reflected on the positive approach and attitude of the team.

The team performed well in the lead up matches winning 3 of 4 pre tournament games and continued this form on in the tournament with a first innings win over Marlborough, an outright win over South Canterbury (the only outright result of the tournament) and a draw against Invercargill Metro although a game that we dominated. The only disappointing fact was that 2 days play were lost due to rain.

The week was a huge success and great reward for a group of boys and parents who had put in a huge amount of work over the past 3 years from when the boys were in year 6.
